ANFP Announces 2020-2021 Officers and Directors

St. Charles, IL – The Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) is pleased to announce its incoming leaders. These individuals will serve for the 2020-2021 year and took office on June 1. They represent ANFP, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM), and/or the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF).

Richard P. Nickless, CEC, CCA, AAC, CDM, CFPP of Hanahan, SC, will serve as ANFP‘s Chair of the Board. His prior experience with ANFP includes as Director at Large, Treasurer-Elect, Treasurer, and Chair-Elect. Nickless is the Chef/Supply & Services Director at DDSN Coastal Center and brings more than 45 years of experience in foodservice to the Board.

Serving as Chair-Elect is Omar Humes, CDM, CFPP. Humes is a Food Services Director at PruittHealth and has over 29 years of experience in foodservice. He most recently served as ANFP’s Treasurer.

ANFP’s Treasurer is Felicia Smith, MHA, CDM, CFPP. Felicia Smith previously served as Treasurer-Elect. She is the Director of Hospitality Services at Memorial Hospital of Converse County and has over 20 years of foodservice experience.

Marjorie Smith, CDM, CFPP will serve as Treasurer-Elect. Marjorie Smith previously served as a Director at Large on the Board and is the Director of Culinary Services at the Homestead of Maplewood in Golden Valley, MN. She has over 30 years of foodservice experience.

John Hickson, CCA, CDM, CFPP, FMP, MCFE of Slidell, LA, will serve as the Immediate Past Chair, having previously served as Chair of the Board. Hickson is the Culinary Director/Executive Chef at St. Anthony’s Gardens Retirement Community. He has over 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry.

ANFP’s new Directors at Large are Robert Milligan, CDM, CFPP; Jeffrey Wuollet, CDM, CFPP; Sona Donayan, MS, RDN; Peggy O’Neill, MBA, MS, RDN, LD/N, CSG, FAND; and Sherri Conde. Continuing in their roles as Directors at Large are Amy Bollam, RD, LD, MPS; Judith Hazlett, CDM, CFPP; Randy Husted, CDM, CFPP; Kenneth Owens, CDM, CFPP; Renee Spence, CDM, CFPP; and Jessica Weisbrich, RDN, LD, CDM, CFPP.

Joyce Gilbert, PhD, RDN remains the President & CEO of ANFP.

CBDM Announces New Board Members

The Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) – the credentialing agency for ANFP – announces Kenneth Hanson, CPM, CDM, CFPP as a new member of the Board. Hanson is the Jail Services Supervisor at the Polk County Sherriff’s Office in Des Moines, IA.

Continuing their service to the CBDM are DeLaine M. Rasmussen, MS, RDN, CDE, CDM, CFPP; Cynthia Rodgers; Zerrin Sayar; Thomas Thaman, CDM, CFPP (Chair); James Thoma, CDM, CFPP; and Jen Wright, MA, CDM, CFPP.

NFEF Announces Chair and Trustees

Kenneth Hanson, CPM, CDM, CFPP will serve as the new Chair of the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF). Hanson previously served as the Chair-Elect. The new Treasurer is Felicia Smith, MHA, CDM, CFPP. The NFEF also welcomes new Trustee Hunter Hying, CDM, CFPP. The Immediate Past Chair is Shellee Roloff. Chair-Elect is Lisa Votapka, CDM, CFPP.

Continuing their service to the NFEF are Trustees Gary Blake; Nick Kruthaupt; Kim Kyle, CDM, CFPP; Shona McCue, CDM, CFPP; Nancy Merkel, CDM, CFPP; Dorothy Radermacher, CDM, CFPP; and Chair-Elect Lisa Votapka, CDM, CFPP.


ANFP is a national not-for-profit association established in 1960 that represents more than 15,000 professional members dedicated to the mission of providing optimum nutritional care through nutrition and foodservice management. ANFP members work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, correctional facilities and other non-commercial food settings.
