Internet Privacy Policy

Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) welcomes visitors to the ANFP website (the “Site”) and related Internet services. We are committed to the privacy of our members, supporters, and visitors. To that end, we adhere to the following policies.

By accessing the Site and related Internet services, you agree that you have read and agreed to abide by these policies.

ANFP collects no personal information about you when you visit our Site unless you choose to provide that information to us.

Personal Information Collection and Use

The personal information we collect from you may include, but is not limited to, name, title, organization, mailing address, email address, phone and fax numbers, and credit/debit card information. We also may collect information on your views and preferences as they relate to ANFP services. If you provide us with personal information, e.g., by sending an e-mail or by filling out a form and submitting it through the Site, we use that information to provide you with the information and services that you request, or to contact you about ANFP membership, news, surveys, products, services, and for other legitimate and lawful purposes.

ANFP stores and uses the information you provide about yourself when placing a request or order or to complete a transaction. ANFP also works with third party vendors to provide a more customized experience for you or to deliver content, materials and services. To do so, we may disclose personal information about you to those vendors, though we do not allow them to re-sell or use that information for their own purposes.

Online Course Usage Information

If you are enrolled in a ANFP online course, the Site collects detail about the course pages you have visited. This information may be used by ANFP to provide technical support to you, to document your course completion, and/or to ensure you receive continuing education hours you have earned.

E-mail

We use the e-mail and payment information you provide to process your orders and to fulfill your requests for information. Supplier Members of Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals do have access to current ANFP member names and email addresses. You can opt out of having your email address given to Supplier Members by checking the appropriate box on your annual dues notice or calling us at 1-800-323-1908. ANFP does not sell, rent, or trade e-mail addresses to any other organization, other than current ANFP Supplier Members. ANFP members who have access to selected, individual member e-mail addresses through the members-only ANFP Member Community must abide by the Policy for Usage (below).

ANFP may generate e-mail to users for the following purposes:

  • To reply to an e-mail or request initiated by a member, customer, or website visitor.
  • >To confirm purchase and/or provide a payment receipt resulting from a business transaction initiated with ANFP (e.g., purchase in the Marketplace, online dues payment).
  • To deliver news and information (e.g., ANFP eNews).

Any ANFP member or recipient of e-mails generated by ANFP may opt-out by selecting “UNSUBSCRIBE” at the bottom of the email. ANFP expressly reserves the right to contact any member or other visitor regarding account status, renewals, or other matters relevant to subscription or service.

Anonymous Information Collection

In order to provide timely and relevant information and services to Site visitors, we collect anonymous information from users and summarize it in aggregated statistics to analyze information such as: time and length of visits, pages visited, files downloaded, and links/banner ads clicked. We compile this anonymous information to develop reports of website usage in order to better understand visitors’ needs and interests on the Site. We also use it to evaluate and enhance services to all visitors as a group.

User Login

Web-based services are provided through the User Login system and are available only to members, certificants, customers, and individuals/companies with whom ANFP or CBDM has an established relationship. These services are provided through the User Login system. Web pages within User Login that display individual member information, such as continuing education hours and contact information, operate under a secure server environment, and although ANFP cannot guarantee against loss or misuse of information, reasonable precautions are taken to protect the security of this information. Users are responsible for securing their own user IDs and passwords, and should not share their login information with others. Users may change their own passwords at any time under User Login, or contact the ANFP for assistance.

ANFP Member Community - Policy for Usage

The ANFP Member Community is a members-only access feature of the ANFP website. It provides an online networking opportunity for members of ANFP. Members enjoy freedom to exchange information and share knowledge in a sales-free, community-supported environment, with respect for every member’s circumstances.

By logging in to the Community, members agree to:

  • Refrain from using the resources of the Community (including member e-mail addresses) to market or sell services/products for personal gain, or for the gain of any third-party entity.
  • Refrain from using language that is offensive to others.
  • Honor the confidentiality of members’ postings.
  • Failure to abide by this policy may result in removal from the ANFP Member Community.

Although the Community is located behind a member login, please be aware that any personal information you provide is not guaranteed to be confidential, and may become publicly available to other members and possibly the general public.

Cookies and Web Beacons

In order to help enhance how the Site functions and performs, and to understand users’ browsing and buying activities, we use “cookies” and “web beacons” that store a small piece of data on users’ computers and collect information about a user’s visit to our Site. Cookies are small text files transferred from the website to the hard drive of a user’s computer. Our Site also uses web beacons (both direct and third-party) along with cookies to determine if a user has visited a particular website. Web beacons help provide more relevant advertising and measure advertising results. The cookies and web beacons we use collect non-personally identifiable information about users of the Site.

Cookies and web beacons are used on the Site to enable functionality of Member Login, Online Course Login, the ANFP Member Community, and the Marketplace. This information also is used to enhance users’ experience while visiting our Site and to improve the performance of our Site by, among other things, allowing us to monitor Site performance, making the Site easier to use, measuring the effectiveness of promotions, and tailoring the Site (including ads and offers) to better match a user’s interests and preferences.

Users who prefer not to accept cookies can set their Internet browser to notify them when they receive a cookie or to prevent cookies from being placed on their hard drive. If you consent to our collection of cookies and you subsequently wish to withdraw your consent, you will need to manage the settings on your web browser to delete all cookies and disallow further acceptance of cookies. Please note: disabling cookies on your browser may disable Site functions and features, and may prevent the Site from working properly.

As a service to members and visitors, the ANFP website provides links to other websites. ANFP is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sites. The ANFP Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the ANFP website.

International Users

Personal Information that you voluntarily submit to the ANFP website and related Internet services may be maintained or accessed in servers or files located in the U.S. If you are located outside the U.S. and you do not consent to having your information processed and stored in the U.S., please do not provide it to ANFP or this Site. If you are located outside the U.S., your providing information to this Site or other online or electronic access to ANFP means you are transferring data to the U.S., which may not provide the same level of data protection as the laws of your home country.

Access and Correction

Users have the right to access, delete, or update the personal information they submit through our Site, or to inquire about the processing of such information. If you wish to do so, please contact us as described below. We provide individuals with access to their personal information where we believe appropriate, including in situations where you are entitled to access and review your personal information under applicable data protection and privacy laws.

Changes to this Policy

ANFP reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy without advance notice. The revised Policy will be effective when posted online.
