To maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential, you must earn 45 continuing education (CE) hours every three years. Nine of these CE hours must be in sanitation and safety and beginning June 1, 2019, one CE hour must pertain to professional ethics.
Since continuing education is only awarded to programs related to the nutrition and foodservice industry, this requirement guarantees that you will continue updating your professional skills throughout your career and demonstrates your commitment to continued competence. Read more about maintaining your credential on the Certifying Board of Dietary Managers (CBDM) website at www.CBDMonline.org
Please Note: Duplicate programs or titles are not allowed as eligible CE, including programs and titles from facility-contracted service companies. Credit for CE hours can only be earned once for any given program and cannot be resubmitted for credit again regardless of whether the program is completed in a new recertification period. CE can be earned and reported only while the certification is active.
