ANFP Announces 2021-2022 Officers and Directors

St. Charles, IL – The Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) is pleased to announce its 2021-2022 leadership. These volunteers took office on June 1. They represent ANFP, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM), and/or the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF). 

Omar Humes, CDM, CFPP of Durham, NC will serve as ANFP’s Chair of the Board. His prior experience with ANFP includes multiple roles at the chapter level, Director at Large, Treasurer-Elect, Treasurer, and Chair-Elect. Humes brings 30 years of industry experience to his role as Chair. 

Serving as Chair-Elect is Felicia Smith, MHA, CDM, CFPP. Smith previously served as a Director at Large and Treasurer-Elect and is a past president of WY ANFP. She is the Director of Hospitality Services at Memorial Hospital of Converse County and has over 20 years of foodservice experience. 

ANFP’s Treasurer is Felicia Smith, MHA, CDM, CFPP. Felicia Smith previously served as Treasurer-Elect. She is the Director of Hospitality Services at Memorial Hospital of Converse County and has over 20 years of foodservice experience.

Marjorie Smith, CDM, CFPP will serve as Treasurer, after serving previously as a Director at Large and Treasurer-Elect. Smith is the Director of Culinary Services at the Homestead of Maplewood in Golden Valley, MN. Kenneth Owens, CDM, CFPP will serve in the role of Treasurer-Elect, with prior experience as a Director at Large. 

Richard “Nick” Nickless, CEC, CCA, AAC, CDM, CFPP will serve as Immediate Past Chair. Nickless recently concluded his term as Chair and brings more than 45 years of industry experience to the Board. 

ANFP’s new Directors at Large are Richard Hoelzel, FMP, CDM, CFPP; Shaylei Lynn Johnson, CDM, CFPP; and Joey Rost, CDM, CFPP. Continuing in their service are Robert Milligan, CDM, CFPP; Renee Spence, CDM, CFPP; Jessica Weisbrich, CDM, CFPP; Jeffrey Wuollet, CDM, CFPP; Sona Donayan, MS, RDN; Peggy O’Neill; Amy Bollam, LD; and Sherri Conde

Joyce Gilbert, PhD, RDN remains the President & CEO of ANFP.

CBDM Announces New Board Members

The Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) – the credentialing agency for ANFP – formally announces Karen Swift, CDM, CFPP who joined the Board during 2021. She will continue as a member of the Board in the coming year. 

Continuing their service to the Certifying Board are Kenneth Hanson, CPM, CDM, CFPP; DeLaine Rasmussen, RDN, CDM, CFPP; Cynthia Rodgers; Zerrin Sayar; and James Thoma, CDM, CFPP

Tom Thaman, CDM, CFPP
remains in the role the Chair of the Certifying Board. 

NFEF Announces Chair and Trustees

Lisa Votapka, CDM, CFPP will serve as the new chair for the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF) Board of Trustees. She previously served as Chair-Elect. Serving as treasurer is Marjorie Smith, CDM, CFPP. The Immediate Past Chair is Kenneth Hanson, CPM, CDM, CFPP. Shona McCue, CDM, CFPP will serve as Chair-Elect. 

Continuing their service to the Board of Trustees are Gary Blake; Hunter Hying, CDM, CFPP; Nick Kruthaupt; Kim Kyle, CDM, CFPP; Nancy Merkel, CDM, CFPP; Dorothy Radermacher; and Shellee Roloff
