Why is a career in foodservice the right fit for you?
My passion in caring for others, specifically for the elderly, has landed me in this position I'm in now, and I believe wholeheartedly it's the right one. There are many opportunities for growth in this career path, different routes you can take, and areas you can focus on in the foodservice industry.
Why did you choose to earn your CDM, CFPP credential?
I was blessed with the opportunity by my employer to pursue my education in this field and earn my credentials, and I jumped on that opportunity to do so as it not only benefits me and my career, but most importantly benefits the residents under my care. I want to be able to provide them with the best care possible when it comes to their nutritional health.
What ANFP tools have helped you get acclimated in your career?
The ANFP tools have been a huge help to me while becoming acclimated in my career and even while I was in school earning my credentials. One of my favorite tools to use from the ANFP site was the forum, which I still use. It provides a sense of community and support from other fellow CDM, CFPPs.
What are you looking forward to most in your career as a CDM, CFPP?
I think I'm most looking forward to the opportunity for growth as I learn more about this field. My main priority is providing the residents with the best care when it comes to their health.
What advice would you give other young professionals or those searching to build a new career in the foodservice industry?
My advice would be to keep striving to learn more in this field. If you have the opportunity to earn your credentials, I highly recommend it as it can open many doors for you to further your career and grow in this industry. There's always something to learn, and the more you learn, the more of an asset you can be.
