ANFP Announces 2018-19 Officers and Directors

St. Charles, IL - The Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) is pleased to announce its new 2018-2019 national leaders. These individuals took office June 1, 2018 and represent ANFP, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, and/or the Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation.

Sharon Vermeer, CDM, CFPP of Orange City, IA, is ANFP’s new Chair of the Board after previously serving as Chair Elect. Vermeer is the Food Services Manager for Orange City Area Health System. She has over 20 years of foodservice experience and previously served as an ANFP Director at Large and Treasurer.

John Hickson, CCA, CDM, CFPP, FMP of Slidell, LA, is this year’s Chair Elect. Hickson is the Food & Nutrition Director/Environmental Service Director at Southern Surgical Hospital. He has 32 years of foodservice experience.

ANFP’s Treasurer is Richard P. Nickless, CEC, CCA, AAC, CDM, CFPP from Summerville, SC. Nickless is the Chef and Supply & Services Director at DDSN Coastal Center and has more than 45 years of experience in the food industry. Omar Humes, CDM, CFPP from Durham, NC, is the Treasurer Elect. Humes is the Food Services Director for PruittHealth and has 27 years of experience in the food industry.

Serving as Immediate Past Chair is Ken Hanson, CPM, CDM, CFPP of Ankeny, IA. Hanson is a Jail Services Supervisor at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Hanson has worked in the foodservice industry for over 30 years and previously served on the ANFP Board as Chair and Treasurer. Joyce Gilbert, PhD, RDN remains the ANFP President and CEO.

ANFP has six new Directors at Large. Judith Hazlett, CDM, CFPP, Randy Husted, CDM, CFPP, Kenneth Owens, CDM, CFPP, Monica Perry, RDN, LD (Industry Partner), Kelley Vande Lune, MBA, McKee Foods Corp. (Corporate Partner), and Donna Wixted, BS (Industry Partner).

Continuing their terms as ANFP Directors at Large are: Mildred Bailey-Zarate, CDM, CFPP, Jeremy Manners, CDM, CFPP, FMP, Felicia Smith, CDM, CFPP, Marjorie Smith, CDM, CFPP and Dana Fillmore, RD, CP-FS (Corporate Partner).

CBDM Announces New Board Members

The Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) – which is responsible for ANFP’s certification program – announces four new members. Ginger Baker, RN, BSN, LNHA, MHA, CRRN, CDP, has more than 20 years in long-term care. She is currently the Administrator at Pruitt Health Raleigh in Zebulon, NC. DeLaine Rasmussen, MS, RDN, CDE, CDM, CFPP has more than 18 years of foodservice experience. She is currently a Public Health Nutritionist, Diabetes Educator in Sisseton, SD. Zerrin Sayer is a consultant based out of Washington DC. Karen Werner, CDM, CFPP has 35 years of foodservice experience. She is the Director of Dining Services for Judson Park Sodexo in Federal Way, WA.

Continuing their service on the Certifying Board are CarieAnn Williams, CDM, CFPP (Chair), Thomas Thaman, CDM, CFPP, and Jen Wright, MA, CDM, CFPP.

NFEF Announces New Board Members and Trustees

The Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF) – The philanthropic arm of ANFP, organized to advance education and research – announces Kim Kyle, CDM, CFPP, as the new Chair. She is the Director of Nutritional Services for Creative Solutions in Healthcare in Collinsville, TX. Shellee Roloff will serve as the new Chair Elect. Roloff is the Sr. Category Manager, Foodservice & Furnishings at Direct Supply. Mary Hanna-Schupp, CDM, CFPP, is the Immediate Past Chair. Hanna-Schupp is a District Manager for Health Care Service Group. Richard P. Nickless, CEC, CCA, AAC, CDM, CFPP will serve as Treasurer and is from Summerville, SC. Nickless is the Chef and Supply & Services Director at DDSN Coastal Center. NFEF has two new trustees for 2018-19. Gary Blake will join as Trustee, and is President & CEO of Creative Solutions in Healthcare in Collinsville, TX. Dorothy Radermacher, CDM, CFPP will also join as a Trustee.

Continuing their service on the Foundation are Nick Kruthaupt; Kathryn Massey, BA, CDM, CFPP, Shona McCue, CDM, CFPP, Becky Rude, MS, RD, CDM, CFPP, and Lisa Votapka, CDM, CFPP.
