ANFP Announces 2015-2016 Officers and Directors
ST. CHARLES, IL – The Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) is pleased to announce its new 2015-2016 national leaders. These individuals took office June 1, 2015 and serve the association on the ANFP Board of Directors and the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers. Debbie McDonald, CDM, CFPP of Burkburnett, TX is ANFP’s new Chair of the Board after previously serving as Chair Elect. McDonald is Program Administrator of Food Service at North Texas State Hospital. McDonald has 35 years of experience in food service and formerly served as Chair of the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers.
Janice M. Hemel, CDM, CFPP of Dighton, Kansas is this year’s Chair Elect. Hemel is a Certified Dietary Manager/Foodservice Supervisor at Lane County Hospital and Long Term Care. She has worked in the foodservice industry for 29 years and previously served on the ANFP Board as Treasurer.
ANFP’s Treasurer is Ken Hanson, BS, CDM, CFPP of Ankeny, IA. Hanson is Jail Services Supervisor at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Hanson has 29 years of foodservice experience and previously served as an ANFP Director at Large and Treasurer Elect.
Serving as Immediate Past Chair is Kathryn Massey, BA, CDM, CFPP of Sioux City, IA. Massey, who served as ANFP Chair in 2014-2015, is a Certified Dietary Manager at Floyd Valley Hospital. She has worked in food service for nearly 31 years.
Sharon Vermeer, CDM, CFPP from Maurice, IA is the new Treasurer Elect. Vermeer is the Food Services Manager for Orange City Area Health System. She has 19 years of foodservice experience.
ANFP has four new Directors at Large. Cindy Cothern, CDM, CFPP of Mound Valley, KS, is a Dietary Manager at Montgomery Place. Cothern has worked in foodservice for 25 years. John Hickson, CCA, FMP, CHESP, CDM, CFPP of Slidell, LA is an Independent Food Safety Auditor at Verify International. Hickson has been in foodservice for 28 years. Gary Blake of Fort Worth, TX serves as a Director at Large – Industry Partner for ANFP. Blake is the Owner & Founder of Creative Solutions in Healthcare, Inc. Carl Mulder of Hendersonville, TN joins as Director at Large – Corporate Partner. Mulder is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Aladdin Temp-Rite.
Continuing their terms as ANFP Directors at Large are: Richard D. Hoelzel, CDM, CFPP, FMP; Larry J. Jackson, CDM, CFPP; Richard “Nick” Nickless, CDM, CFPP; Sherri Williams, MHS, CDM, CFPP; Amy Lewis, MBA (Corporate Partner); and Jeff Patton (Industry). Continuing her service on the Healthcare Caterers International (HCI) Board is Debra D. Dawson, CDM, CFPP of Johnston, IA. Dawson is Nutrition Services Director at Southern Hills Specialty Care.
CBDM Announces New Board Member
The Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) – which is responsible for ANFP’s certification program – announces two new members. Timothy Bauman, DHCFA, CDM, CFPP from Sylvania, OH is the President/Owner of BBSLLC and has worked in the foodservice industry for 41 years. Nicole L. Clapp, RN, MSN, FACHE is serving as the Healthcare Administrator. Clapp is the President and CEO of Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, WI.
Continuing their service on the Certifying Board are CarieAnn Williams, CDM, CFPP, Chair; Theresa Fightmaster, MS; Yvonne Foyt, CDM, CFPP; Kristin Klinefelter, RD; and Barbara Thomsen, CDM, CFPP.
NFEF Announces New Board Trustee
The Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF) – the philanthropic arm of ANFP, organized to advance education and research – announces Ken Hanson, CDM, CFPP as the new Treasurer of the Foundation. Hanson also serves in the equivalent role on the ANFP Board of Directors. NFEF also has four new trustees. Shona McCue, CDM, CFPP is the Director of Nutritional Services at Cook Hospital in Cook, MN. Catherine Cape is the Director, Leadership Development and Training at Morrison Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Nick Kruthaupt is the Vice President, Contract Sales at Sysco Corporation in Houston, TX. Shellee Roloff is the Product Consultant Manager at Direct Supply in Milwaukee, WI. Continuing their service on the Foundation are Ginger Cater, Med, CDM, CFPP (Chair Elect); Katie Clay, RD, LDN (Immediate Past Chair); Linda Halverson, CDM, CFPP; Jeremy Manners, CDM, CFPP, FMP (Chair); and Becky Rude, MS, RD, CDM, CFPP.
