Presentation Overall Description:
The LTC Survey Requirements for Participation were released on 10/4/2016. Food, nutrition and dining are integral focus areas. Certified Dietary Managers must know what these changes are and what surveyors will be looking at during the survey process. This session will present an overview of the key changes and implementation timelines to put you in the “driver’s seat” for success.
Session Objectives: By the end of the session attendees will be able to:
- Understand the key changes in the new LTC Survey Requirements for Participation and Time-Lines for Implementation.
- Describe the focus components for Food and Nutrition Services.
- Maneuver through the regulatory maze of compliance and be a driver for success.
Presenter:
Brenda Richardson, MA, RDN, LD, CD, FAND, is a known leader in the field of dietetics and nutrition with aging. Brenda is a national acclaimed speaker, author, LTC nutrition-legal expert and consultant to health care providers. She is President of Brenda Richardson Associates, LLC. Brenda currently serves on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Position Committee, is past Chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Political Action Committee (ANDPAC) and serves on the Academy CMS Workgroup and IMPACT ACT Task Force.
