  • Eligibility Pathway I: All ANFP-Approved Training Programs offer Eligibility Pathway I.  While enrolled in a Pathway I training program, you are required to complete at least 120 hours of classroom and at least 150 hours of field experience work.
  • Hours required for graduation vary by school, so confirm each program’s specific classroom and field-experience requirements. You must graduate while the program is approved by ANFP.

  • If you qualify for Eligibility Pathway IIIb, you are still required to complete at least 120 hours of classroom work and will need to complete the CBDM Employment Verification Form showing two of years of noncommercial foodservice management experience along with a copy of the official job description for each position when applying for the exam. You may have earned the required 2+ years of work experience gradually; it does not have to be consecutive or completed recently.
  • If you believe you have qualifying work experience, discuss your qualifications for Pathway IIIb with the Program Director at the training program you select before enrolling. The Program Director contact information is listed on the page for further information.
  • You must graduate from the program while the program is approved by ANFP.
