2025 National CDM, CFPP Day of the Year Acknowledged in Congress

For the third year in a row, Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA-2) recognized National CDM, CFPP Day by entering remarks into the Congressional Record on December 10, 2025.

In her statement, Rep. Kiggans highlighted the vital role Certified Dietary Managers, Certified Food Protection Professionals (CDM, CFPPs) play in healthcare, particularly in long-term care settings. She emphasized that foodborne illness poses a serious risk to seniors and noted that the CDM, CFPP credential raises the standard of care in skilled nursing facilities while providing a clearly defined career path for professionals serving vulnerable populations.

Drawing on her experience as a geriatric nurse practitioner, Rep. Kiggans shared that she has seen firsthand how CDM, CFPPs positively affect health outcomes through their leadership in nutrition and foodservice operations.
