Washington University is a prestigious university in the heart of St. Louis. Their dining services partner, Bon Appetit Management Company, is committed to providing high quality food in a sustainable manner. Learn from their chefs how they menu plan for a culturally diverse market, make from-scratch cooking in large scales using technology and healthy options, and discover sustainable kitchen practices to reduce their environmental footprint. Transportation and breakfast are included. The tour will require standing and walking through a production kitchen. Space is limited. Earn 1.5 CE hours. Tickets are available for $30 each.

Food Roof Farm Tour, Urban Harvest

See a glimpse into rooftop farming in downtown St. Louis!
Group tours last up to 60 minutes, which includes ample time for questions. Urban Harvest will share a brief overview and the history of the FOOD ROOF Farm, followed by a farm walk with in-depth explanations of each component of the farm, from hydroponic towers to the agricultural green roof system to chickens to an edible wall.
Please note that the rooftop is only accessible by two flights of stairs - once you make the short climb to the roof, you will not be disappointed. We look forward to welcoming you to the farm! Space is limited.
