CDM Exam Scholarship for Students
Future CDM, CFPPs
The Colleen Allen Ham Certification Scholarship
OBJECTIVE: The SCANFP will award annual scholarships to non-certified, South Carolina Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals members who wish to sit for the National Certification exam. The scholarships will be awarded to individuals who are currently working in the food service industry. The recipient must be enrolled as a ANFP student or associate member in good standing and provide proof of eligibility to sit for the National Certification exam. This would include proof of successful completion of a ANFP approved course or program, either on-site or correspondence.
PROCEDURES: The Scholarship/Education Committee shall decide upon the selection of the number of award recipients. The recommendations put forth from that committee will be reviewed and approved by a majority of the SCANFP Board of Directors, in accordance with the policies approved for the administration of the scholarship. The National Certification exam is offered twice per year in April and October. The deadline for the exam application is December 1st or June 1st . The Scholarship Committee should receive applications at these times to ensure an adequate review period before the January and July SCANFP Board meeting. The number of scholarships will be awarded based on the availability of funds and the Committee's review of the applications.
The amount of the scholarship will equal the current fee for the exam as established by the National ANFP office. If the recipient does not pass the exam, he is not eligible to reapply for the scholarship.
Upon the selection of the scholarship recipient(s), the SCANFP board will issue a check to the recipient(s). It is the recipient's responsibility to apply for and pay for the exam with this scholarship money. The SCANFP is not responsible for recipients who do not follow through with the exam process. The recipients will be recognized in the SCANFP newsletter, "The Wren Notes" and at the Fall and Spring state meeting.
The SCANFP Board reserves the right to deny scholarship funding if the applicant cannot provide proof of eligibility to sit for the exam.
